| Course Description: |
| A one day emergency first aid course designed to
meet the needs of those involved in the care of babies and young
children. This course is fully approved by the Pre-School Learning
alliance and National Childminding Association and satisfies the
mandatory requirements for those undertaking Modern Apprenticeships
in Early Years Care & Education. |
| Aims of the Course: |
| At the end of the course participants
will be able to: |

Assess and prioritise a first
aid incident |

Deal with an unconscious child or baby |
|
Carry out resuscitation on a child or baby |
|
Control bleeding and manage shock |
|
Recognise and deal with with a wide range
of common injuries and illnesses until the arrival of medical
care |

| Course Certification: |
| Continual assessment will take place throughout
the course. On successful completion of the course participants
will be awarded an Emergency First Aid Care for Children Certificate
which is valid for 2 years. |
